The Innercity Pirates played this track up and down the UK over the summer of 2008. Sticking in the harts and minds of everyone who came across it the song became a staple of the band's live shows... though it was a speeded up punkey version of the song which echoed though the venues and fields. The song also became a favourite of Steve Lamacq, awarding the song his "Record of the Week" on Radio 1.
lyrics
Oh Cockney Sparra
won’t you kiss my dusty bin lid
I know your quite far away now
but can't you just stretch your lips
Oh Cockney Sparra
won’t you rest upon my dusty bin lid
My mother says I'm a big boy now
but you make me feel like a kid
Do doo do doo doo
Do doo doo do doo
When you gonna fly my way X2
Do doo do doo doo
Do doo doo do doo X2
Oh cockney sparra
won’t you please stop being paranoid
I know I'm not a man but I'm still your boy
Do doo do doo doo
Do doo doo do doo
When you gonna fly my way X2
Do doo do doo doo
Do doo doo do doo X2
Oh and the feeling
I had in my heart
now its gone away X2
Oh and the feeling
I had in my heart
oh and the feeling I had
is gone
Do doo do doo doo
Do doo doo do doo
when you gonna fly my way X2
Do doo do doo doo
Do doo doo do doo X2
Do doo do doo doo
Do doo doo do doo
When you gonna fly my way X2
Do doo do doo doo
Do doo doo do doo X2
Oh cockney sparra
won’t you kiss my dusty bin lid
